In 2016 Helgason translated the play by Shakespeare for the famous theatre company Vesturport. The production, directed by Gísli Örn Garðarsson, was premiered in December 2016 and ran until March 2017.
For his translation of Othello Hallgrímur Helgason reiceived the Icelandic Translation Prize 2017.
