In October 2020 Hallgrímur Helgason went on a reading tour with his latest novel in German, 60 Kilo Sonnenschein. Despite the Corona virus, the trip was made possible with limited audiences and live streaming. Helgason read in Litarturhaus München, in the Buchhandlung Herschel in Berlin, in Literaturhaus Kiel, Literaturhaus Hamburg, Buchhandlung Reuffel in Koblenz and at the Zürich Liest festival in Zürich, Switzerland. Helgason returned home uninfected and spent the required five days in quarantine in his home city of Reykjavik. The novel is doing well on the German speaking market, has gotten rave reviews and is currently at no. 28 on the Spiegel Bestseller list.
