Hallgrímur’s exhibition “War í lofti” or “War Is In the Air” opened on 27. September 2025 in Gallery Port in Hallgerðargata in Reykjavik. Here the artist shows 11 new paintings, all done this year. All works are comments on the state of world affairs, the horrors of ongoing wars and the ongoing fear of a world war breaking out. The artist uses his brush to fight the fools in power east and west, believing in the old wisdom that art will always outdo the evils of temporary rulers. All works are a product of the artist’s imagination. Hallgrímur works from his mind, stomach and soul rather than photos or reality. There is however one exception to this: A big rendition of the famous Icelandic waterfall Dynjandi, done in blood red, with an unknown drone overhead.
